Daawat : a feast for a celebration
In Hindi and Urdu, Daawat (dāvat) means an invitation - to gather, to celebrate, to share in good company. Our supper club carries forward this philosophy of gathering and generosity, celebrating the vast tapestry of India’s regional cuisines and the stories they hold.

Our story
We’re two home cooks, both born and raised in the bustling metropolis of Bombay.
Exploring the Indian food scene in Boston, we quickly realized that it lacked the range and diversity we grew up with. Too often, Indian cuisine was reduced to a single idea – “curry”. We wanted to change that. To do something to show how truly vast, regional, and nuanced India’s culinary landscape is.
We began cooking for our friends, the dishes we missed, those we’d never tried, and those we were curious about. We sourced recipes from home – from aunties and home cooks and friends, We even shipped ingredients from India to keep the flavors authentic and true.
What started as a small kitchen experiment has now grown into something bigger – something that celebrates India’s lesser-known culinary traditions and shares them in
a space that celebrates connection, curiosity, and community.

The experience
Every Daawat is a multi-course, communal dinner that blends food, storytelling, and discovery.
Expect dishes you’ve never tried before, stories about where they came from and how we discovered them, and the warmth of a shared table with curious, kind strangers. The experience lasts around two hours and includes appetizers, main courses, sides, dessert, and often a signature drink. You’re also welcome to BYOB — to enjoy solo or pass around the table.
We do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions while keeping recipes authentic.
